Major League Sports Ballpark

Art Partners Group was hired in early 2008 as consultants to specify placement and create an overall budget for the artwork at Target Field, the new ballpark for the Minnesota Twins.

Each area of the ballpark was given a theme and our goal was not using any image more than once. The committee resourced more than 2000 images from multiple sources. All existing artwork was inventoried and analyzed for reuse, and more than 300 pieces were used as-is or reframed. In the end, more than 1000 new pieces were printed, framed or produced.

"Art zones" were created that each had their own personality by topic, materials, art type and sizes. Images include giclée prints on metal and glass, canvases in black and white, prints in both four-color and sepia, commissioned artwork, framed jerseys, historical imagery, graphics, and displays. Included in the design is a 60-foot detailed history wall depicting the building of the stadium with storyboards, signage, items from the construction site, and historically significant pieces.
